Help us to support the conservation work of Paradise Park this weekend

The pandemic has taken its toll on many organisations, and after hearing about the challenges facing one of our favourite Cornish places, we felt compelled to do something to help. That's why this weekend (Saturday 21st, Sunday 22nd and Monday 23rd February 2021), we're pledging a proportion of our website sales to the fantastic Paradise Park.

Based in Hayle, Cornwall; Paradise Park is a Wildlife Sanctuary which is home to the World Parrot Trust and Operation Chough. For four decades they been committed to conserving a wide range of birds and mammals – whilst educating people about the species and helping many families create memories.

A large proportion of their work is funded by visitors, but as with other wildlife sanctuaries they have been forced to close their gates for much of the last twelve months. Paradise Park Director Alison Hales told us: “It costs in excess of £46,000 a month just to look after the animals at the Park including when we are closed - we are not able to furlough our Keepers as we need them to care for over 1,200 birds and mammals.”

So this weekend is an opportunity to treat yourself to beautiful Whistlefish greetings cards, art and gifts - with the knowledge that your purchase will be helping support their great conservation work.

Paradise Park Whistlefish Support weekend

Alison said: “We are so grateful to Whistlefish for their wonderful support of Paradise Park. Money raised will help pay for vital food and vet treatment and we can’t thank you enough for your support.”

Lyn Thompson, owner of Whistlefish said: “I have such fond memories of taking my two children to Paradise Park when they were younger. It holds a very special place in my heart, and I am pleased that we are able to support their conservation work during these challenging times.”
