Chris grew up in Goring-on-Thames and worked as an art director in London for many years, but always instinctively felt that he wanted to become a professional artist, which he has now been for over 10 years and during that time been represented by many galleries all over the UK.
Living in the Surrey Hills Chris's work consisted of landscapes, mainly of trees and flowers and he spent much of my time happily rambling through the woodlands with his sketchbook.
Having recently moved to St. Ives in Cornwall with its renowned quality of light and colour, his aim now is to capture the essence of the coastal paths and unique land and seascapes of this beautiful area across the seasons.
When Chris is sketching out on the rocks he feels inspired by the power of the waves and the ever-changing cloud formation in the vast Cornish sky which adds yet another dimension to his work and to the colours that he uses.
Chris's intention is to try to create a feeling or particular atmosphere that people can relate to and which brings back happy memories for them.
