Inspired by the coast and countryside, Julia creates illustrative pieces of work bursting with colour that lift the spirits!

I draw much of my inspiration from my surroundings and nature, I'm very lucky that we live on the edge of the Pennines so there are huge expanses of countryside close at hand.

I love flowers, plants and the natural world but I also find myself deeply inspired by the coast.  In particular, I love the south west coastline.  We first visited Cornwall when I was just a young child and it made such an impact on me, I remember being in awe of the cliffs and huge waves – it's a pretty special place and remains so
