5 Things To Do In Padstow

Padstow is a must-see destination on the North Coast of Cornwall but in the height of Summer it can be extremely busy. We've compiled a list of activities to do in and around Padstow where you can take a break and have a breather away from the crowds.
1. Step back in time and spend an afternoon at Prideaux Place
Just outside of the town is a lovely Elizabethan country house. This historic home is perfect for an afternoon tea. You can also stop by the deer park opposite, where you'll see some usually timid wildlife up-close.
2. Cool down with an ice cream at the harbour
Next door to the Whistlefish shop, you'll find our favourite Roskilly's Cornish ice cream. Alongside classic flavours you can choose a clotted cream version for a real Cornish summertime taste.
3. Rent a push bike and ride along the Camel Trail
From Padstow you can travel along the virtually level tarmacked cycle path that lays parallel to the Camel Estuary. This trail is suitable for all fitness levels and is suitable for wheelchair users and pushchairs. The next town from Padstow is Wadebridge then Bodmin and on to Wenfordbridge.
4. Take a picnic and unwind on the grass near St. Saviour's point
There are fields and benches where you can relax a view the Camel Estuary.
From here you join the Southwest Coast Path and continue exploring the coastline towards the picturesque Stepper Point where the crowds thin out.
5. Catch the ferry to Rock
You can cross the Camel Estuary on the Rock Taxi for a small fee and explore a new small town made popular by its famous residence with gorgeous walks on this side of the estuary up to Daymer Bay.
