Iris Clelford has been painting for Whistlefish for a number of years and we thought it was long overdue that we sat down for a catch up and learn a bit more about her, her work and her experiences!
Originally from Yorkshire, Giles studied art foundation at Sheffield before moving to the South West to study illustration and graphic Design at Exeter College of Art. Experimentation is at the heart of Giles’ painting. Working pre-dominantly in oils his canvases take on other-worldly textures with the addition of acrylics, pen, inks, varnishes and anything else he can lay his hands on. Read on to hear how he became an artist and where he gets his inspiration from.
Each year here at Whistlefish we choose some very worthy charities to support with a percentage of sales of our Christmas cards. This year we have taken this concept one step further, with some specially commissioned designs for the cards that are supporting 2 of our charities, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home and the Cornwall Wildlife Trust. Our third charity is one that we hold close to our heart here at Whistlefish, The Princes Trust.
We wanted to give a bit more background about each of the charities we have chosen to support this year and hope that you will get as much satisfaction as we do when you combine purchasing a fabulous card alongside helping these fantastic causes.
Today we take a look at the Cornwall Wildlife Trust...
