Hannah Cole

Hannah grew up in North Devon, and is now based in Brighton.

She graduated from the University of Brighton in 1994 with a degree in Illustration, and worked in illustration for several years, before starting to exhibit her paintings in their own right.

Now a mum of two, she paints full time from her loft studio in Brighton. She is inspired by her frequent travels to the West Country, as well as the everyday seaside walks around Brighton and beyond. Her paintings depict the charm of Cornish harbours and bring back happy memories of beachside holidays, and her distinctive style is instantly recognisable - (especially with the ever-present wistful dog gazing out to sea! ) She says “people always ask me if that’s my dog in the paintings - sadly not! But my son is desperate for a dog so maybe one day soon…”

Just perfect. Christmas present for my Mum. Mum & Dad used to holiday in St Ives 60 years ago and this is the view they saw from their Bed & Breakfast. Super excited for Christmas Day and to see her face.

This is a really beautiful print and makes me smile everytime I look at it. It is hanging in my newly decorated bathroom and I love it. Gives me great pleasure and reminds me of days gone by at the seaside.
