Christmas Card Proceeds 2022

When we get to launch our fabulous Christmas Card collection it truly is the most wonderful time of the year. With the much anticipated Christmas card collection also comes our chosen charities and organisations. Each year Whistlefish love to hand-pick local and national organisations and charities to donate to from the sales of Christmas cards; and 2022 is no different.

Here are the Whistlefish chosen organisations for 2022

The Prince's Trust

This year, we are so proud to announce a new era as Associate Partner with The Prince’s Trust.

Whistlefish wouldn't be where we are today without the help and support from The Prince's Trust and the funds Whistlefish will be donating will be used for giving other young entrepreneurs a helping hand in starting their own businesses.

Unfortunately many new and prospective businesses fail because they don't get the funding and advice they need to succeed.

"To found a startup means to risk a high failure rate. 20% of businesses fail in their first year and around 60% will go bust within their first three years." - quote from fundsquire.com 2020

But, with your help we can make more young people's dreams come true by raising the much-needed funds to provide assistance for getting into the world of work. The Prince's Trust not only provides loans for equipment and resources, but also hands-on expertise from mentors who will provide them with business advice and guidance wherever required to give them confidence to build their company.

"I received business advice from the two mentors that The Trust provided, guidance from professionals that proved invaluable in getting the business off the ground." - Lyn Thompson Whistlefish founder

We are hoping to raise £10,000 from our Christmas card collection this year to donate to the Prince's Trust. Can you help?

The Clydesdale Horse Society

With numbers drastically declining and the breeds being in need of help more than ever, we have chosen to continue our support for The Clydesdale Horse Society.

Formally launched in June 1877, the aim of the society is to maintain the purity of the breed and promote the Clydesdale Horse.

Despite a long history of being an integral part of everyday life in previous decades, by 1975 Clydesdales were categorised by the Rare Breed Survival Trust as 'vulnerable'. But with the continued work of those committed to the breed, the numbers of Clydesdales has started to increase, and they are now categorised as 'at risk'.

However with only around 250 foals being recorded in the stud book each year, the breed is still very much at risk. Although some are still being used for their traditional roles on the farm, driving and logging work, people with a love of the horses are finding new ways to work with the breed, such as riding them and featuring them at associated shows. Find out more about The Clydesdale Horse Society here.

I love your cards but wondering what percentage you give to your chosen charities. Thanks

I was so very excited to receive my order. What a professional, swift service, and such beautiful indulgent cards and exceptional quality gift wrap.
I can’t quite believe how fabulous they are. I usually like to hand pick my cards and gift wrap from a shop in person, but I must say I am very pleasantly surprised at the quality and price and the cards look stunning. I don’t often shop online as I usually support my local high street but I must say I will definitely be buying cards and gift wrap from Whistlefish again. They are more than cards they are pieces of art which I’m sure my recipients will keep and treasure. The packaging itself when they were delivered is beautiful. Thank you so much.

I hope that you will look at extending your shop maybe with gifts, calendars, and diaries perhaps.

Thank you for offering a superb collection and choice.

Always love your cards, visited your Padstow stores 6 years ago ( very dangerous ) but LOVED the visit, now but on line. Soooo happy that you are supporting animals this year, also like doggies. Anyway, when I place the Christmas card order, there is no urgent rush to post it to me. Please wait until the post workers strike is over, but want to get the order placed. Thank you for such lovely birthday/ Christmas cards, oh yes I brought a tea pot, many people love it.
Jean King.
