Bedruthan Steps

The dramatic and breathtaking views across the cliffs at Bedruthan Steps rarely disappoint, with the majestic, wave-swept stacks reaching out across the coastline. The legend of Bedruthan is that a giant used the stacks as stepping stones to get a short cut across the bay, but this just seems to be a 19th-century invention so the tale has been called into question. But the beauty of the bay can't be questioned, especially on a beautiful summer's day as we've captured in the picture below.

Coming Home to Cornwall 

If you've ever made the journey in or out of Cornwall, you'll have spotted the nearly home trees which stand atop a hill near Lifton. The small copse of trees marks the border between Cornwall and Devon and for many signals the beginning of their summer holidays in the county. There are many different myths and legends regarding the trees and how they came to be planted on the hill, including an ancient burial ground, a landscape feature to mark the edge of Lifton Park Estate or a romantic gesture by a local farmer in memory of his wife. However the trees came to be there, they've now become an iconic part of the landscape for holidaymakers and locals alike. 

St Ives

A trip to Cornwall isn't complete without a trip to the gorgeous harbourside town of St Ives, with its winding, cobbled shop-lined streets, squawking seagulls swooping to steal your pasty and surfers catching the waves at Porthmeor.

We also have two galleries in St Ives, so please stop by and pay us a visit. Our Art Gallery in St Ives is located on the historic Fore Street. We stock a wide range of traditional and contemporary art. This is our larger St Ives Art gallery and is just a minute walk from the famous harbour. There is a wide selection of art featuring St Ives and the surrounding area. In addition to our framed prints, canvas and frames we have a large collection of our greeting cards.

Our smaller St Ives gallery is located on the harbour front, directly opposite the slipway, with its impressive view of the iconic Smeaton's Pier, it stocks greeting cards and gifts.

Harlyn Bay

Often considered one of the best beaches for family trips in Cornwall, Harlyn Bay is a wide expanse of golden sands with plenty of opportunities for children to explore rock pools and the dunes. It's also a popular location for novice surfers who can use the crescent shaped bay to master the waves in relative safety. If you prefer to take in the views from the coast path you can enjoy a route around the beach to Mother Ivey's Bay and Trevose Head.
