St Ives September Festival 2025: Your Complete Guide to Music and the Arts in Cornwall

Our Blog August 29, 2025

The St Ives September Festival returns from Saturday 13th - Saturday 27th September 2025, bringing 15 days of music, art and community spirit to our beautiful town by the sea. A highlight of the Cornish cultural calendar, the festival is loved for its variety, with everything from live music and comedy to exhibitions, workshops and guided walks.

What’s New in 2025

This year the spotlight is on the newly renovated St Ives Theatre, now the main venue for all headline performances. With major upgrades and a capacity of 312, it’s an exciting space for both artists and audiences. For the first time, numbered seating is available, making it easier to secure the perfect view.

The festival will also begin with two colourful Saturdays of street entertainment, sponsored by Aspects, with the Falmouth Marine Band setting the tone. From the opening day, the programme is packed with music, poetry, comedy, talks and creative sessions - with many events completely free.

  • Martha Tilston, acclaimed folk singer and filmmaker, appears on Thursday 25th September.

  • The Countrymen open the festival on Saturday 13th September with their high-energy set.

  • The Unravelling Wilburys bring a lively tribute to The Travelling Wilburys on Sunday 14th September.

  • Roo Panes headlines at St Ia Church, joined by Lowender, Molly Hocking and Bryher’s Boys.

More Than Music

The festival is a hub of creativity. Comedy Club Live brings performers such as Laura Lexx and Patrick Monahan, while Cornish favourite Johnny Cowling has already sold out his show.

Art lovers can enjoy Open Studios, where local artists welcome visitors into their creative spaces, as well as the Square Deal Art Sale and exhibitions at galleries including the Penwith Gallery.

Workshops and talks also add depth to the programme, from sketching to the sound of swing to the new “In Conversation with Songwriters” series at The Western Hotel. Across town, free installations such as “An Open Secret” invite everyone to be part of the creative atmosphere.
