At Whistlefish, we’re always looking for ways to make a positive impact on the planet. Reducing plastic waste and ensuring our products are as eco-friendly as possible have been key to our mission. From our 'Naked Cards' initiative to recyclable packaging, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do.
In 2020, we launched 'Naked Cards' by removing plastic packaging slips and replacing them with 100% recyclable stickers, paired with 100% recyclable paper envelopes. This change alone prevented over 22 million plastic slips from ending up in landfill in just one year—enough to stretch from Land’s End to John O’Groats! But we didn’t stop there.
We replaced plastic with recycled paper belly bands for our wrapping paper packs and textiles like tea towels and aprons, and swapped the protective corners on framed prints and canvases for recyclable cardboard. Even our foil finishes are fully recyclable, allowing customers to recycle their cards with ease.
