Hannah grew up in North Devon, and is now based in Brighton.
She graduated from the University of Brighton in 1994 with a degree in Illustration, and worked in illustration for several years, before starting to exhibit her paintings in their own right.
Now a mum of two, she paints full time from her loft studio in Brighton. She is inspired by her frequent travels to the West Country, as well as the everyday seaside walks around Brighton and beyond. Her paintings depict the charm of Cornish harbours and bring back happy memories of beachside holidays, and her distinctive style is instantly recognisable - (especially with the ever-present wistful dog gazing out to sea! ) She says “people always ask me if that’s my dog in the paintings - sadly not! But my son is desperate for a dog so maybe one day soon…”
The frame was perfect - but unfortunately the actual print was disappointing as the colour was not as vivid as the greeting card of Harbour Poppies we had purchased in Cornwall. The greeting card had deeper and pure colours with strong contrasts which made the houses/sea-scape stand out. I have now bought an other frame and framed the greeting card as I so liked the picture.
