Jenny’s artistic career was born from taking a break from her work as a science teacher in order to bring up her young family. She began to create paintings of the delights of Cornwall, sold them at a school Christmas fair and hasn’t looked back since.
Jenny is self-taught and works in a very free and vibrant style, using as she says, ‘fingers…tatty old paint brushes, tooth brushes and anything close to hand.’ Her preferred mediums are collage, acrylics and inks. Whatever she uses, Jenny creates paintings full of life and colour and she’s constantly trying new techniques, making her work ever-changing.
Inspiration mainly comes from holiday memories and photos of the Cornish and Devon coastlines. Jenny lives in Bristol and finds lots of inspiration in the very supportive local artist network. Although she lives in a city, her heart is really in rural Cornwall and she hopes to live there one day, in a house with sea views she can paint.
