Laura took up painting four years ago and began to sell through a shop owned by a care company who were looking for local artists and crafters. The shop is staffed by adults with learning disabilities and provides them an opportunity to work with customers and gain life skills.
Laura works primarily with acrylic paint and inks, and sometimes mixed media adding collage for texture and interest. She is inspired mostly by colour and shape, whether this is from nature, or man-made.
Laura is particularly interested in form in trees, rocks, and flowers, and love trying to capture the shapes within cliffs and seascapes. Colour is her real passion though, and its affect on mood and atmosphere. She likes colours to be bold and vibrant, and like to create eye catching work.
