Embark on a memorable pumpkin patch adventure with the Whistlefish Design Team at Trevaskis Farm, Cornwall, where we recently stepped out of our studio, donned woolly jumpers and welly boots, and ventured into the heart of the countryside for a day of inspiration and fun.
A Day at Trevaskis Farm
Nestled amidst 28 acres of stunning countryside near the coast, Trevaskis Farm is renowned for its "Pick Your Own" experience. Families from far and wide flock here to enjoy a day of harvesting seasonal fruits and vegetables. It’s the perfect place to reconnect with nature and experience the beauty of the countryside. If you live in Cornwall, or are soon to visit, we highly recommend paying a visit to Trevaskis to fill your wheelbarrow full of pumpkins.
Creative Inspiration
Our creative team was thrilled to embrace the autumnal spirit by selecting a variety of pumpkins from the farm’s vibrant patch. The pumpkins, with their unique shapes, sizes, and colours, inspired our talented designers. We expected only orange pumpkins but were pleasantly surprised by the sea of white ones as well! The cold seasonal breeze and the autumnal location created a cosy and inspiring atmosphere.

Painting Pumpkins
The design team brought their artistic flair to life by painting each pumpkin in their own unique style. From spots to botanical flowers and even Hallowe’en-inspired characters, the pumpkins were transformed into beautiful works of art. We used acrylic paint on the pumpkins, and despite the slight breeze, they were taking a little while to dry… Trevaskis kindly lent us a small heater to help speed up the process, but you could always use a hairdryer at home. The Joy of Autumn
Autumn is a wonderful time to enjoy nature and appreciate life’s simple joys. The crisp air, colourful leaves, and peaceful countryside create a sense of calm and reflection and provided the perfect escape from the everyday hustle, giving us the chance to take in the beauty around us.
Creativity and Well-Being
Picking pumpkins and painting them amidst the farm’s natural beauty gave our designs a seasonal touch. The fresh air, coffee from the café, and simple pleasures of the day brought new energy to our creative process and this delightful escape into nature, inspired our design team, and reminded us how nature can fuel creativity and well-being. We were able to infuse a touch of autumn into our designs and take inspiration for future card designs.
